A four-year-old boy is believed to have been abused to death by five of his older sister’s friends in a home in Senggarang, Batu Pahat.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the police received a report lodged by a 23-year-old local man.

The man alleged that the young boy fainted at home and was brought to a clinic for treatment at 6.45pm on Friday, Sinar Harian reported.

The boy was then taken to the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) but he succumbed to his injuries on Monday at 6.40pm after fighting for three days.

The police arrested five locals – 2 men and 3 women – aged 15 to 37 years old on Saturday and they’ll be remanded until Sunday, 31 December 2022.

Reports indicate that the victim was under the care of his older sister after their parents were imprisoned for drug charges.

According to Kosmo, the police confirmed that the victim was abused with a hot metal rod and the victim had injuries all over the body, including the private parts.

Kamarul said it was a heartbreaking sight because the victim showed injuries from his head to his feet.

He believes the victim was also burned with fire or something hot all over the body.

The case was initially investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children’s Act 2001, which carries a fine of RM50,000 or 20 years imprisonment, or both.

The case has been reclassified under Section 302 of the Penal Code after the victim’s death.
