Remains Of Batang Kali Landslide Victim Found Hugging Beloved Dog

It was believed that the victim brought three of his pet dogs with him on a camping trip in Sector A (Hilltop) of the campsite.

The body of an adult male was found yesterday morning at the Father’s Organic Farm, bringing the Batang Kali landslide death toll to 26 victims.

The Fire and Rescue Department said the victim was found hugging one of his dogs under the rubble. They also found the remains of another dog not far from the victim’s body, which was believed to be his too.

According to The Star, Hafisham Mohd Noor, the Selangor Fire & Rescue Department Assistant Operations Director said that the man probably brought his three pet dogs with him to Sector A campsite (Hilltop).

His body was found in Sector B (Farmview), most likely carried by the landslide’s current. The remains of his third dog have yet to be found but they will continue to search for it.

The 26th victim was found not long after the 25th victim (Tuesday night) was found. The 25th victim, a young girl believed to be between five and seven years old was found in Sector C (Riverside), at a 17-meter depth.

The updated summary of the Batang Kali victims as of Wednesday morning is as follows:

Total victims: 94
Survivors: 61
Death toll: 26
Missing victims: 7
Summary of the death toll: 5 male (adult), 13 female (adult), 5 male (child), 3 female (child).
