The government is giving out RM300 to households and RM100 to individuals as part of the first phase of Bantuan Tunai Rakyat, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today in Parliament.
He said during the tabling of a mini-budget that aims to help Malaysians during the rainy season, the government will continue giving out cash aid which is expected to benefit around 9 million Malaysians.
Anwar mentions that the handouts will be given in January 2023 instead of March as announced by the previous government.
He also added that this decision was made to help those who are in need, especially farmers and fishermen living in the east coast region.
We have expedited the process so that they will get the help that they need.
