Day four of the Batang Kali landslide Search and Rescue (SAR) operations will be focused on Sector A (Hillview) and C (Riverside) at the Father’s Organic Farm, based on reports from The Star.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operation) Hafisham Mohd Noor said that the search for the nine remaining victims resumed at 8 am today (19 December).

He said that they are focusing on both of these sectors with the assistance of K9 tracking dogs and excavators.

It will also be a challenge to undertake the mission today, Hafisham added, as the rain on Sunday has made the soil at the campsite soft and muddy.

Security officers are also stationed at the site to watch for any soil movement, but the risk is low so far.

Based on our records, the land was 16m high prior to the landslide. The operation to dig up the soil will commence searching for victims who have been buried underneath.
