MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm And Continuous Rain Warning For Three Days

The inclement weather warning starts from today until Friday (16 December) in several areas in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.

MetMalaysia has issued a thunderstorm and continuous rain warnings for Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak over the next three days from today until Friday (14 to 16 December 2022).

Wednesday (14 December)

In the morning, several areas in Pahang, Terengganu, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Sabah (Tawau and Sandakan) might experience rainfall while it’ll be cloudy in Kuala Lumpur.

Towards the evening and night time, the same weather warning is issued for Terengganu, Johor, and interior Sabah along with one or two places in Kelantan, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Sarawak (Sri Aman, Kapit, and Miri), and Sabah (Tawau and Kudat).

Thunderstorms are forecasted to occur in several areas in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Negeri Sembilan. One or two places in Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Penang, Pahang, Selangor, and Melaka might experience thunderstorms too.

Similar warnings are given in some places in Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, and Kapit) and Sabah (Pantai Barat, Tawau, Sandakan, and Kudat).

Thursday (15 December)

In the morning, rainfall is expected in Terengganu and Pahang and in a few places in Kelantan, Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, and Sarikei) and Sabah (Pantai Barat, Tawau dan Labuan) including the beaches in Penang.

However, Sabah (Sandakan and Kudat) is predicted to experience thunderstorms the next morning (16 December).

In the afternoon, Terengganu, Kelantan, and Sabah (Labuan) are expected to have rain.

Areas such as Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Pahang, Selangor, Melaka, and Johor including several areas in interior Perlis, Kedah and Perak, will face thunderstorms.

The same warning is given to Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Miri dan Limbang) and Sabah (interior, Pantai Barat, Tawau, Sandakan, and Kudat).

During the night, thunderstorm warnings are issued to a few areas in Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, and Sabah (interior and Labuan).

A few areas in Perak, Sarawak (Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, and Bintulu) and Sabah (Tawau, Sandakan, and Kudat) might experience rain.

Friday (16 December)

In the morning, Terengganu and Pahang will experience rain while some areas in Kelantan, Sarawak (Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu) and Sabah (interior, Pantai Barat, Tawau, Sandakan and Kudat) including the beaches in Penang.

In the afternoon, the same warning is issued to Terengganu and some areas in Kelantan and Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong and Sarikei).

Thunderstorms are predicted to occur in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak (Miri and Limbang), one or two places in Penang, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak (Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu) and Sabah (interior, Pantai Barat, Tawau, Sandakan, Kudat and Labuan).

At night, the rain is forecast in Terengganu, interior Perak, Sarawak (Miri and Limbang) and a few places in Penang, Kelantan, Pahang, interior Kedah, Sarawak (Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu) and Sabah ( Pantai Barat, Tawau, and Sandakan).

Meanwhile, thunderstorms are predicted to hit a few places in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Sabah (Labuan and interior) and interior Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka.
