Commuters took to Twitter to announce the fast repairs carried out at various stations such as the Bukit Bintang monorail, KLCC LRT station, and a monorail station in KL.
Some netizens jokingly said the fast repairs were ordered by an employee who was afraid of their job security ever since Anthony Loke was appointed as the Transport Minister.
However, it’s likely that the spare parts ordered by Rapid Rail from the original manufacturer (OEM) in Shanghai, China, have arrived and enabled the long-needed repairs.
Back in October 2022, Rapid Rail stated that the first batch of spare parts would arrive in October, the second batch in mid-November, and the third sometime in December.
In total, Rapid Rail ordered 87 handrail units and 37 escalator step chain units to carry out the repair works.

Hopefully, the current speed of repairs is not a one-off thing.
