Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob confirmed that Barisan Nasional (BN) will not be collaborating with any coalition to form a government.
In an update at 2pm, the Umno vice president said BN’s top leadership had agreed that they would not be supporting any coalition to form a government.
“BN will not be supporting Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN),” he said.
“For now, BN agrees to remain as the opposition,” Ismail Sabri added.

With this new development, it leaves PH and PN in a conundrum as neither have enough to form a new government.
A coalition needs at least 112 seats in the Dewan Rakyat and with PH at 82 and PN at 73, they would need the support of other parties to form a unity government.
