An elderly woman claimed that she was unable to cast her vote in the 15th General Election (GE15) after she was informed by an Election Commission (SPR) officer that her name had already been used by another unknown individual.
Berita Harian quoted Zaleha Abdul Rahman, 75, who said that she was surprised when the EC staff checked her name and MyKad repeatedly but the database shows that she had already voted.
Zaleha said that she arrived at the polling center at a primary school in Kota Sarang Semut at 9.55 this morning accompanied by his daughter, Zuliza Ramli, 38.
When informed about the matter I was not satisfied because I had not yet voted at that time. I am not a new voter but have been voting at the same polling station for years. Why is this happening? I have never lost my MyKad before, I even used the MyKad to withdraw money at the bank and other things, but I was surprised when something like this happened.

Zuliza mentioned that she and her mother have filed a report at the Kota Sarang Semut Police Station on the matter and they hope that the authorities can investigate.
Kedah Police Chief, Datuk Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad confirmed receiving a report regarding the incident and said that they are looking into it.
