With Allah SWT’s destiny, and support from friends, I want to lead UMNO one day. I want to become your Prime Minister to build the country but I must win here [Sungai Buloh] first.

He jokingly added that he wants to prove himself first by winning the seven-cornered fight in the 15th general election (GE15) so Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will take the helm, for now, The Malay Mail reported.
If the people of Sungai Buloh support me, I can inform the party’s people, I came to the dragon’s den, 26,000 majority, I won the seat for Barisan Nasional, I want to lead the party and I want to lead the country now.

It’s his first time contesting in Sungai Buloh
According to Malay Mail, the former health minister said that Pakatan Harapan (PH) had been taking swipes at BN since his candidacy in Sungai Buloh was announced.
Since nomination day, PH leaders have been pushing the idea that a vote for Khairy is a vote for BN chairman and UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
BN nominating Khairy as its candidate in Sungai Buloh was a surprise to many because he previously served as Rembau MP in Negeri Sembilan for three terms by winning the seat in GE12 (2008), GE13 (2013) and GE14 (2018).
Since it’s his first time contesting in Sungai Buloh, some believe it was a move to kill Khairy’s political career.
PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli had alleged that Khairy might be axed from UMNO if BN wins GE15 after Khairy secures the Sungai Buloh seat.
On 19 November, Khairy faces PKR’s deputy information chief Datuk R. Ramanan, Perikatan Nasional’s Mohd Ghazali Md Hamin, Gerakan Tanah Air’s Mohd Akmal Mohd Yusoff, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Ahmad Jufliz Faizal, and two independent candidates — Syed Abdul Razak Syed Long Alsagoff and Nurhaslinda Basri aka Sifu Linda.
Previously, the Sungai Buloh seat was won by PKR’s Sivarasa Rasiah in GE14 against three other contenders: PAS’s Nuridah Mohd Salleh, BN’s A. Prakash Rao, and Parti Sosialis Malaysia’s Zainurizzaman Moharam.
