Incumbent Tambun MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has welcomed Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest the parliamentary seat he won in the last general election.

“To those that wish to move from other places and come to Tambun, I just want to tell you something. In Tambun, we say ‘ayor’ (water)…listen carefully ‘ayor’, not ‘ayaq’ (water in the northern accent traditionally used in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and certain parts of Perak).

“Thank you and welcome,” the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president said in a video uploaded to Twitter.

Although he did not name anyone inside the video, it was believed that the message was directed towards Anwar, who confirmed that he would contest in Tambun in GE15.

Anwar, the PKR president and the incumbent Port Dickson lawmaker announced in a PH convention in Ipoh that he intends to contest in Tambun next as he wanted to help strengthen the coalition in the northern states.
