Although cats always land on their feet, it is still hazardous and illegal for anybody to throw a feline from high grounds.

A local man, aged 44, find this the hard way after he was arrested by the police for killing three cats belonging to his neighbour – by throwing them from his 15th-floor apartment in Petaling Jaya.

The suspect, who had committed the heinous act last Monday, was caught by the police after a report was lodged against the perpetrator.

“Apart from his arrest, we also found three cat carcasses with him. Based on preliminary investigations, the suspect admitted to throwing his neighbour’s cat from his residence on the 15th floor,” Bernama quoted Petaling Jaya police chief Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid.

It was however not immediately clear why the suspect had committed such an act.

Mohamad Fakhruddin said that the suspect is now under remand for four days beginning yesterday.

The case is being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code for mischief by killing or maiming any animal.
