Six major highways in the Klang Valley will see a toll fare reduction as part of the government’s effort to alleviate the rakyat’s rising cost of living, says caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

According to The Star, the government has also agreed to the proposal to restructure four concession companies under Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas).

The restructuring will save the government RM8.8 billion in compensation which is supposed to be paid to the concession companies involved.

The announcement comes ahead of the 15th general election (GE15), which is expected to be held in early November and before the monsoon season.
