Coolio, well known for his Grammy-winning track “Gangsta’s Paradise” in 1995, has died, according to the Rolling Stones who quoted his manager Jarez Posey. He was 59.

TMZ  stated that the late rapper was found dead at his friend’s house. It was reported that his friend became suspicious after Coolio failed to respond to his calls after going to the bathroom. He then barged into the door and found the 59-year-old lying unconscious on the floor.

Paramedics suspect he suffered a cardiac arrest. However, the cause of death has not been determined.

Known for his music, Coolio was one of the most popular artists on the radio and MTV during the nineties.

Artis Leon Ivey Jr. was born in 1963, and he went to Compton Community College in Compton, California. In the late 1980s, he released his first single, “Watcha Gonna Do.” This song was played on a hip-hop station in his area. Later, he got in touch with WC and the Maad Circle and helped them make their first album, Ain’t a Damn Thing Changed, which came out in 1991.

By 1994, he was already a well-known rapper in Los Angeles. He signed with Tommy Boy Records and put out his first studio album.
