According to mstar, he quickly exited the van to save himself and saw the water pooling under the car and on the road.

In the video, water could be seen continuously pouring out from the ground and flooding the road.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng said the police closed the road immediately and advised motorists to use an alternative route.

The Fire and Rescue Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Air Selangor arrived on the scene to monitor the situation.

Lim added that DBKL successfully extracted the van around 9.15 am, but the cause of the sinkhole has yet to be determined.

Netizens said, luckily, it wasn’t a motorcycle that got stuck in the sinkhole.

Others believe that the flooding was caused by the burst main water pipe and said the road will have to be closed for repairs.

According to DBKL, the road works have completed about an hour ago today (24 September) and reopened for public use.

On 9 September, The Star reported that DBKL approved upgrading works at the main traffic artery of Jalan Kepong Besar.

The upgrading work, which is expected to start next month, would take place from Jinjang Utara towards Metro Prima.
