The police arrested a couple after they led the men in blue in a high-speed chase along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) last Tuesday.

According to Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the couple was spotted acting suspiciously in a Proton Waja near a hotel at Persiaran Surian.

“When police approached the vehicle, they sped off heading towards the LDP. Police chased the suspects until the U-turn near Bandar Utama when the suspect rammed into several other vehicles,” Mohamad Fakhrudin was quoted as saying by The Star.

He added that the male suspect had tried to flee the scene following the crash but the police managed to detain him.

The police later found a pack of drugs believed to be syabu or methamphetamine inside the car.

“Checks in the vehicle revealed a packet containing 1.3g of a substance, believed to be syabu worth RM130.

“A urine test revealed both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine,” he added.

Mohamad Fakhrudin said that the suspects had been remanded for four days for further investigations.

He also urges those with information on the case to contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
