PAS is adamant that concerts featuring international artists in Malaysia get cancelled and plans to hold a public protest nationwide if their call is ignored.

PAS youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari called on the government to cancel or rescind approvals of such events because it promotes hedonism and goes against Islam as the religion of the Federation.

According to The Vibes, he urged supporters to ensure that the message is heard by Seri Perdana – referring to the prime minister’s official residence in Putrajaya.

It’s not the first time for Fadhli to be against concerts by international artists. Previously, he said too many international concerts in the country could invoke God’s wrath.

He warned others not to challenge the “emotions of Muslims.”

DAP Youth chief Dr Kelvin Yii criticised PAS’s stance and challenged the party to address real issues affecting Malaysians rather than trying to infringe on the rights of others that are protected under the federal constitution.

Fadhli also called for Selena Gomez’s concert in Malaysia to be banned in 2016, alleging that it promoted Western culture and hedonism.
