An emergency evacuation took place at Integra Tower in Jalan Tun Razak due to a bomb threat yesterday (17 August).

According to New Straits Times, the police received a call around noon claiming there was a bomb planted in the Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP) office in the building.

Wangsa Maju police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said the building was evacuated immediately and a search was carried out.

However, no bomb has been found in the office by 4.30pm. A bomb squad remained on standby at the scene.

The authorities cordoned off the building until they finished checking the premises and deemed it safe.

Case details remain sketchy as the investigators continued to comb other parts of the 40-storey building.

KWAP is the agent appointed by the Federal Government to pay pensions, gratuity or other benefits to government retirees.
