‘Paedophilic’ Sales Post On Shopee Using Pics Of Children Taken Down
The disturbing sales listing was spotted by a netizen on the popular e-commerce site.

A Twitter user @softcrocodile raised the alarm after coming across a disturbing listing using the images of young children on Shopee on 5 August.
The listing allegedly used pictures of children to sell “masturbation material” at RM6,942 and is available for pre-order.
The problematic post even listed the ‘product’ as ‘used’ and the shelf life as ‘until dead.’

Needless to say, the post raised concerns and criticisms among netizens. Some netizens were puzzled that the listing got through Shopee’s filters.
They also questioned how the sales post got past Shopee’s vetting process. A few netizens said they have reported the sales post on Shopee too.
A netizen said the listing probably accidentally got past Shopee’s vetting process due to the immense number of new posts the company receives per day.

With thousands of new listings per day, I believe few kind of listing went public. Diorang pun tak cukup staff nak moderate benda macam ni. Best thing people can do is block and report asap.

Shopee has taken down the post
Thankfully, Shopee saw the alert and responded on Twitter after a netizen tagged its official Twitter page.
Shopee thanked netizens for alerting them about the post and has taken down the listing from their website.
They assured everyone that action has been taken against the seller and urged the public to report similar posts to them.
