With the country’s healthcare situation post-pandemic seeing positive results, Malaysians returning from overseas no longer need to fill in the Traveller’s Pass feature on the MySejahtera mobile app starting 4 July.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin was quoted as saying that this would be able to ease locals returning to the country.
The removal of the requirement will happen in stages, and we will also be easing travel back to the country for those with social passes, student visas and permanent residence, for which the date will be announced soon.

However, this is only applicable to Malaysians. Foreigners are still required to download the MySejathera app and fill in the Travellers Pass before entering the country.
Khairy said that this was in order to track infectious diseases like Covid-19 and Monkey Pox potentially entering the country from abroad.
