32YO Kelantan Man Gets 3 Years Jail For Exposing 3YO OKU Nephew To Meth And Heroin
He was accused of exposing his three-year-old disabled nephew to methamphetamine and heroin, causing him to be in a critical condition due to drug toxicity.

A 32-year-old trader was sentenced to three years jail term by the Kota Bharu Session Court after he pleaded guilty to exposing his three-year-old nephew to methamphetamine and heroin on 18 June.
The accused, Mohd Shahrizuan Alias, pleaded guilty as soon as the charges were read to him before Judge Mohd Zul Zakiqudin Zulkifli.
According to the charge sheet, the accused had exposed the victim, who is also a disabled person (OKU), to methamphetamine and heroin, causing the victim to suffer from drug toxicity.
The offence took place at Kampung Sri Jaya, in Kuala Krai, Kelantan at 3pm on 18 June.
The accused was charged under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Children Act 2001 which is punishable under section 31 (1) of the same Act which provides for a fine of not exceeding RM50,000 or a prison sentence not exceeding 20 years or both.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Nurul Hanini Wan Ahmad Shukry prosecuted, while the accused was not represented.
Wan Nurul Hanini urge for an appropriate punishment to be imposed taking into account the crime carried out by the accused.
Mohd Shahrizuan however requested for a lighter sentence to be imposed as he had to support his family and have two small children.
The court then ordered a three-year jail sentence from the date of the arrest and for the accused to be placed on a three-year good behaviour bond upon his release.
The accused was also ordered to undergo community service for 180 hours.

Mohd Shahrizuan was detained by the police on 20 June after doctors found a high amount of drugs inside the body of his three-year-old nephew, which left him in critical condition.
He had two days earlier taken his nephew to bathe at a river in Kampung Sri Jaya, Mahligai, Dabong, Kuala Krai.
The victim was stabilised after receiving treatment for a couple of days at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital.
