While this sounded like good news, it left those who have just renewed their My50 passes wondering what it means for them.
My50 is a monthly travel pass that costs RM50 that allows commuters to use all Rapid KL transport services as many times as they want within 30 days.
Rapid KL has announced that all My50 passes will be extended for an additional 30 days free of charge.
People with passes expiring between 17 June to 15 July will get extra 30 days of rides that can be redeemed at a station counter the day after the pass expires.
Those who bought their pass on 16 June will also get an extra month after it expires on top of a seven-day extension. However, the pass must be activated between 23 to 25 July.
Rapid KL advised those who bought the pass on 16 June to keep the receipt to make the verification process easier. It’s not a must to provide a receipt but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
To redeem the free rides, commuters are required to fill up a form on the PULSE app or a physical form at the station.
