Actor cum director Afdlin Shauki, who failed in his bid to win the PKR Setiawangsa division chief post had lodged a police report against the party’s election committee (JPP) for failing to properly manage the recently concluded PKR election.

Speaking to the press after lodging the report at the Pudu police station, Afdlin claimed elements of fraud existed during the party polls.

Afdlin also claimed that several complaints had been lodged to the JPP with regards to the flaws during the party election but no action nor feedback was given.

“Many of the things they did raise suspicion and were clearly wrong,” Afdlin was quoted as saying by FMT.

“We’ve made a report to the committee before, but they did not respond… so we lodged a police report today for them to investigate the matter,” he added.

The popular comedian among others, claimed that there was a significant difference between the ballot announced by the JPP and the actual number of votes at the Setiawangsa polling station.

“The number of votes announced at the polling station was 750, however after the voting process ended, the number of official votes updated in the JPP system was 528, a very significant difference as 222 votes lost just like that,” he added.

Afdlin cited several other discrepancies which he said favours certain candidates.

In the recently concluded PKR election, Afdlin lost the race for Setiawangsa division chief, losing to its incumbent Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad who retained the post with a slim 110 vote’s majority.
