A road accident at Kilometer 11.5 Jalan Kuala Selangor-Kuala Lumpur near Bukit Rotan killed two men, including a Health Ministry (KKM) personnel, around 4pm on 2 June.

According to Berita Harian, two men were changing tyres by the roadside when they were run over by a lorry.

Kuala Selangor police chief Superintendent Ramli Kasa said a 55-year-old man who drove a Proton Preve got down to change a punctured tyre. A Proton Wira driver, 40, stopped to help him.

At about the same time, a lorry coming from Kuala Selangor to Kuala Lumpur attempted to avoid the vehicle that was parked in the emergency lane by swerving right.

The lorry swerved directions again to avoid a Mercedes in his blindspot (already on the right-hand side of the road) and hit both victims.

Both victims died on the spot due to extensive injuries and the bodies were brought to Hospital Tanjong Karang (HTK) for post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
