What happened before

Earlier, the victim’s father Mohamad Sukri told NST that his daughter was well-versed with the raft house surroundings and knew the dangers posed by the murky water.

The raft house is surrounded by wood fencing and there is only one main entrance to the raft house. Last night, there were many people inside and outside the premises including along the wooden bridge…..the entire area was brightly-lit.

The family lived along the river bank for quite some time before Mohamad Sukri built the raft house in 2020.

If she had slipped and fallen into the river, I believe that our guests might have noticed.

On the night she went missing, she was with her four-year-old cousin inside one of the rooms in the raft house while the open house was taking place at the raft house next to it.

His wife saw both of them inside the room with another female relative. They suddenly realised the female relative and Tia’s cousin were outside the room. When they asked about Tia, they realised she was no longer in the room.

There were about 35 guests at the raft house during the incident and everyone searched every corner of the premises. We even searched the nearby river bank and forest areas.
