After his showdown with the Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak now challenging DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang to a debate in English.
In his Facebook posting, Najib questioned whether Lim had truly retired from politics, pointing out the frequency of critical statements made by Lim against him.
“If you are not retired, do you want a debate? I have many topics to question you on,” asked Najib.
Among the accusations made by Lim against him includes linking him with the death of Teoh Beng Hock, a former political aide to Selangor executive councillor and DAP Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah.
Najib suggested that this accusation could be a potential debate topic with Lim.
According to the Pekan MP, he was ready to debate Lim in 2019 but the latter then cancelled.
Najib had previously slammed Lim for inciting the public by questioning whether Malaysia too will suffer the same fate as Sri Lanka, which was recently plagued by unrest.
Lim however denied advocating violence, saying that he merely warned that Malaysia should learn and prevent its political and socio-economic conditions from deteriorating.
