RON95 petrol and diesel price remain at RM2.05 and RM2.15 respectively however the price for RON97 had been increased by 37 sen per litre, setting the retail price at RM4.31.
This was announced by the Finance Ministry in a statement today.
The ministry said that the RON95 and diesel prices are being kept at the same level even though the real market price has risen above the ceiling price level, as reflected by the new RON97 price.
“The government will continue to monitor the impact of changes in world crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of the people continue to be safeguarded, the statement said,” the statement further reads.
RON95 and diesel prices had remained unchanged since 2018 when the government first implemented the Automated Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
