Elderly Customer Accidentally Drove Through A Melaka Restaurant, Injured 6 Others

The customer was about to leave the restaurant when they accidentally stepped on the accelerator.

An accident at a restaurant along Jalan Puteri Hang Li Poh in Melaka yesterday, 5 May, injured 6 customers.

The accident was caused by a 66-year-old customer who got into their Perodua Kancil after finishing their meal around 7.15pm.

While starting the car, the customer accidentally stepped on the gas pedal and it caused the vehicle to lurch forward into the restaurant.

The vehicle came to a stop when it hit the wall of the premise.

Berita Harian reported that the elderly customer in the car miraculously escaped uninjured.

According to the Melaka Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Supt Amran @Mohamad Zaki Omar, all injured victims are receiving treatment in Hospital Melaka.

The case is investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/58.
