Nagaenthran K Dharmalingam is scheduled to be executed next Wednesday, 27 April, after the Singapore court rejected the appeal made in March 2022.
His lawyer, M Ravi, said it’s heartbreaking news to hear and claimed that Singapore will have blood on their hands for executing an intellectually disabled person.

Nagaenthran’s mother, Panchalai Supermaniam, made a public plea to help save her son. M Ravi shared a video on his Facebook showing Panchalai making a plea in Bahasa Melayu.
The video was made by a human rights nonprofit organisation, Reprieve.

In another post by M Ravi, Nagaenthran’s lawyers in Malaysia have raised a possible conflict of interest in the case.
It’s alleged that Chief Justice Menon, who ruled on the case, also prosecuted Nagaenthran when he was the Attorney General.
Thus, the lawyers request the execution fixed for next Wednesday to be halted and have the appeals re-heard.
