UiTM said it was not an official or public document and asked the public to hold off until the official statement is released.

UiTM’s official statement

The university has finally released an official media statement today, 1 April. After the meeting with university directors, they have decided to place the lecturer on leave.

The lecturer would be on leave starting Friday, 1 April, until the investigation is completed.

UiTM also promises to improve its teaching policies and ethics at all levels of study. They would assess and monitor all lecturers’ professionalism at random each semester.

It could also become an additional element in the promotion processes and extension of service contracts in the university.

The university added that they will not hesitate to take firm action and report to the authorities if there are parties who post misleading information that tarnish the university’s image and reputation.
