The Health Ministry (KKM) announced that approximately 2 million Covid-19 vaccine recipients are set to lose their fully vaccinated status if they don’t get their booster shot before 1 April.
The Malay Mail reported that the majority is comprised of 2.09 million Sinovac recipients who have not taken their booster shot.
People aged 18 and above and senior citizens above the age of 60 who have received Sinovac as their primary vaccines must receive a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that both the Malaysian and Singaporean governments have agreed that Sinovac recipients must get three vaccine doses to maintain their fully vaccinated status.
As such, those who are planning to travel to Singapore once the borders open on 1 April should book their booster appointments as soon as possible by 31 March.
