Fatimah Jusoh, 74, was Covid-19 positive but got into an accident that claimed her life yesterday (15 March) when she was on the way to the hospital.

Her daughter, Murniyati Harun, 47, said her mother passed away around 1.30pm after receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu five days ago.

According to Berita Harian, the loss of Fatimah compounded the whole family’s grief because their father, Harun Md Zin, 80, passed away 12 days ago.

All their life, mum and dad lived peacefully and were never separated from each other. That’s why Allah decided for them to pass away not too long from each other.

Prior to the accident, Fatimah was hospitalized in Hospital Kemaman when she was in Stage 4 of Covid-19 on Friday.

She was en-route to Hospital Setiu in the ambulance when she was involved in an accident with five other vehicles, including another ambulance.

Fatimah suffered a broken right thigh and jaw and was rushed to HSNZ. Throughout her treatment, she didn’t show signs of improvement and fully relied on the respirator.

Her children couldn’t visit her because she was a Covid-19 patient. They could only get updates on their mother from hospital staff.

Murniyati said her mother previously lived in Kampung Mak Kemas in Bukit Payong. She invited her mother to stay with her in Kampung Bukit Kuang Kemaman last year.

Her mother had difficulty walking after a fall but she was still able to converse with family members.

Fatimah was laid to rest in Tanah Perkuburan Islam Kampung Bukit Kuang around 7pm on 15 March 2022.
