A man was recently caught on video allegedly beating up his 5-year-old stepson and the police are on the hunt for him now.
The 30-year-old suspect held both of his stepson’s hands while slapping and scolding him. He kept asking the boy why he kept lying.
There were times when the child’s arms were twisted when he tried to get away.
The child’s mother tried to shield her son by hugging him and dragging him away from the man.
Shah Alam district deputy chief Superintendent Ramsay Anak Embol said the mother lodged a police report at Section 25, Taman Sri Muda, before the video went viral via Whatsapp.
Kosmo reported that early investigations revealed that the couple got married a month ago. According to Free Malaysia Today, the suspect works as a lorry driver.
Netizens were enraged by the man’s behaviour and said he was not fit to be a father. They pointed out that the man might beat up his wife too since he has laid hands on her child.
They also voiced worries about the child’s emotional wellbeing and said they doubt the child would forget what happened.
Hopefully, both mother and child are safe and will be able to recover from this incident.
