Torrential Rain And Thunderstorms Expected To Last Until Friday

METMalaysia predicts that the torrential rain and thunderstorms will happen in some Klang Valley areas until this Friday.

The heavy rain in the past few days has caused flash floods in some parts of the city and it seems like the rain will continue for a few more days.

METMalaysia has issued a warning that the torrential downpour and thunderstorms might continue in several states in the Peninsular, Sarawak and Sabah until Friday, 11 March.

Here’s the forecast below:

Wednesday, 9 March

The West Coast of Sabah, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Kudat) might experience torrential rain while some areas in Terengganu, Pahang and the rural areas in Tawau and Labuan will experience rain in the morning.

In the afternoon, a thunderstorm is predicted to take place in most areas in Putrajaya and some areas in Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Penang, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor. The rural areas in Perak, Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu will experience a similar storm too.

Two areas in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang might experience a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

Come night time, the thunderstorm is expected to take place in one or two areas in Kedah Penang and the rural areas in Pahang. Rain will continue in some areas in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Johor, Samarahan, Betong, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu, Limbang and in the rural areas of Perak, Kelantan, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

Thursday, 10 March

A thunderstorm is predicted to take place in some areas in Perak with rain in two areas in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuching, Serian and Samarahan in the morning.

In the afternoon, there’ll be a thunderstorm in Putrajaya, some areas in Kuala Lumpur, two areas in Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang. Two rural areas in Kedah, Perak, Kelantan and Pahang are expected to experience similar rainfalls.

At night, it’ll rain in two areas in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Johor, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, Limbang and the rural areas in Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. The rural areas in Pahang will experience a thunderstorm.

Friday, 11 March

METMalaysia predicts that there’ll be rain in some areas in Melaka and in one or two areas in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor in the morning.

In the afternoon, there’ll be a thunderstorm in a few areas in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, Limbang and in two rural areas in Perak.

At night, rain is expected in two areas in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and in rural areas of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
