Videos showing an altercation involving several individuals at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HPRB) in Ipoh went viral yesterday (19 February).

Netizens were unsure what transpired but it was chaotic enough to get the police involved.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the police had received two reports that were related to each other.

The first case involved a man who was attacked with sharp weapons in Buntong and it caused three other individuals to receive treatment at HPRB.

Perak police chief Mior Faridalathrash said the fight was caused by a misunderstanding between two families over a relationship and the case will be investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous harm.

The second case happened when a group of men wanted to send a victim from the first case to the hospital.

However, they got into an argument with the hospital guards when they were prevented from entering the hospital emergency zone because too many people from the group wanted to enter.

The police managed to defuse the situation at the hospital and will be investigating the case under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.

The police are tracking the suspect who’s believed to be involved in both cases. Anyone with information regarding the matter should contact Senior Investigating Officer ASP Fadli Ahmad at 019-2500019.

Netizens think the group of people were acting foolishly at the hospital. They said the hospital was not the place to fight but for people to seek medical treatment.
