Most news about snatch thieves do not end well for the victims and often the belongings will never be recovered.

However, a woman @elrynnaa recently had a strange encounter with a snatch thief and shared her experience on Twitter.

She was walking behind two friends in a lane in SS15/8a that was between a market and Shelter Subang where there were lots of food stalls around 6pm yesterday, 16 February.

She added that it was a busy street and she wasn’t walking on her own.

A man wearing a red hoodie riding a blue 125z suddenly snatched her bag that was slung on her shoulder.

According to the stall owners, snatch theft is common in the area. They also told her a few policemen tried to catch the thief on motorcycles but the thief always managed to getaway.

However, she was surprised when the snatch thief returned five to ten minutes later and tossed back her bag on the ground.

She checked her bag and found that all of her belongings are still inside the bag which puzzled her even more.

Despite feeling grateful that she didn’t lose her belongings, she sustained minor scratches from the whole ordeal.

She told TRP that she went to make a police report. However, she was told that since she didn’t incur any losses or injuries and didn’t get the robber’s plate number, there was no point in making a police report.

The police assured her that they’ll increase police rounds and surveillance in the area.

Netizens found it scary and hopes that she was alright to which @elrynnaa replied that she was still shaken up about the incident.

A netizen believes that the snatch thief was just after cash which was why he returned the rest of the belongings.
