4 Family Members On The Way To KL Wedding Died In Road Crash, Father Sole Survivor

Their car was rammed when they made a turn at the junction.

A family of five who was on their way to attend a wedding in Kuala Lumpur ended in a road accident at KM 2 Jalan Lebu – Mempaga heading towards the Central Spine Road (CSR) in Bentong yesterday (28 January).

A Nissan Navara rammed the family travelling in a Toyota Vellfire from Gua Musang at the traffic light around 2.30 pm.

The Vellfire turned to the right junction after the light changed to green, when the Navara hit the car from the opposite direction.

Four people in the family, including three children, died in the crash. According to Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, the four deceased are an adult woman, two girls and a boy.

Based on a report by Sinar Plus, they have been identified as housewife Raihan Mohamad (43) and her children Ahda Dalili Mohd Nazri (14), Ahmad Muaz (7) and Ahda Imtinan (8).

The driver of the Vellfire, who’s Raihan’s husband, Mohd Nazri Hamid (43), escaped with light injuries. He’s a teacher in Felda Aring 1, Gua Musang.

Investigations found that the driver of the Navara tested positive for drugs (opiates, amphetamine and methamphetamine).

Zaiham said the case is investigated under Section 33(1) Road Transport Act 1987.

The mother and her children have been laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Kampung Panchor, Pengkalan Chepa at 9.50 am today (29 January).
