Azwan Omar, popularly known as Abang Viva, has been chosen to join as a volunteer in the Civil Defence Force (APM) Melaka.
According to the Director of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force Lt Kol (PA) Cuthbert John Martin Quadra, Azwan will benefit from APM’s organised and systematic training.
Based on a report by Sinar Harian, Azwan will still be available to provide help to the public while undergoing training.
Since Azwan still has a day job as a machine operator, Cuthbert said he could volunteer and help with APM whenever he can.
The decision was announced after Cuthbert presented Azwan with a certificate of appreciation at Azwan’s family home on Tuesday, 4 January.
Previously, Azwan was also awarded a certificate of appreciation from APM for helping the flood victims with his own boat.
