It seems like MySejahtera is still riddled with bugs and glitches.

Some Malaysian users have complained that they are mistakenly identified as Person Under Surveillance (PUS) for Covid-19 and are placed under Home Surveillance Order (HSO).

On 7 November, a Twitter user @lokkhee1999 shared a screenshot from his MySejahtera profile which showed an HSO status. He said he did not travel anywhere and only stayed at home.

His tweet received responses from other users who had the shock of their lives when they were identified as PUS and placed under HSO too.

MySejahtera has since issued a public apology on the same day in the morning (7 November) and informed the public that the situation has been rectified.

Despite assuring users that they have deleted the incorrect HSOs and reverted the incorrect PUS status, there are still users who are affected by the glitch.

Netizens are still unhappy with MySejahtera and have let their feelings known on Twitter.

“I already do it more than 10 times, I already click the help desk many times also. And it’s still there!,” a netizen wrote.

“@my_sejahtera easy to apologize. You know what you’ve caused? Hundreds of passengers  missed their flight and who is gonna pay? You?” another person wrote.

Other netizens tried to help by giving some tips to remove and revert the incorrect statuses. However, it doesn’t seem to work for everyone.

A few netizens also voiced their disappointment with the constant errors in MySejahtera app until now.

“This app is paid with a large cost. If there’s still a problem like this and they want users to manually update, this app can be thrown away,” someone else tweeted.

The bug or glitch in the app has not only caused users to miss their flights and important work meetings but also caused a child to miss classes.

“Do you know when you create this function it has to be bulletproof? You emphasise the importance of this status. Now people miss their flight? My kid miss her class because here I am trying to be a good citizen not getting other kids infected when it’s all a GLITCH?” a netizen tweeted.

Previous security breach in MySejahtera

Last month, the MySejahtera app faced a security vulnerability when anyone could send out emails or one-time passwords (OTP) on behalf of the app.

According to The Malay Mail, the app’s QR check-in feature was misused by ‘malicious scripts’ to send OTPs to mobile numbers.

The MySejahtera team assured users that their data was not accessed by the scripts.

Since then, these API endpoints are blocked and a fix to enhance security will be moved tonight. We want to reassure all our users that no user data was accessed by these scripts but random phone numbers were spammed to verify their phone number. We apologise for this inconvenience.

MySejahtera said in a statement to the media.
