These Two Women Travelled To Malaysia For Horseback Archery & Surprised Local Followers

Two tourists recently caught Malaysian followers off guard on Instagram after revealing that horseback archery is actually offered in the country.
User @cfauntz and a friend shared their visit to Cape Cavallho in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, capturing themselves shooting arrows at targets while riding horses around the ring.
They thanked the team at Cape Cavallho for hosting them and shared that they plan to bring the skills back to their horsemanship centre, TABELA Nepal.
When asked how they discovered Cape Cavallho, they explained that they had become friends with the owners.
What is horseback archery?
Horseback archery, also known as mounted archery or equestrian archery, is a sport where horsemanship and traditional archery merge. The sport requires riders to shoot targets from a moving horse.
Horseback archery is actively practiced in over 50 countries. Since it’s a niche, non-Olympic sport, it’s governed by multiple independent international federations rather than a single body.
In Malaysia, there are several local academies such as the ARBA Equestrian Archery Academy in Ulu Yam, Selangor, Ladang Alam Warisan in Negeri Sembilan, Rahman Putra Equine Centre in Selangor, and Saville Equestrian Park in Johor.
The Malaysia Horseback Archery Federation (MHAF) governs the sport in the country and frequently organises introductory clinics and national events.
In December 2025, the Malaysian team won three gold medals at the Global Horseback Archery Masters 2025, which was held from 10 to 13 December in Honghuashan Sports Centre, Shenzhen, China.
