alrajhi bank Malaysia has launched its first Visa credit cards, the Visa Platinum Credit Card-i and Visa Signature Credit Card-i, expanding into everyday consumer spending.
The Platinum card offers 5% cashback on daily essentials with no annual fee, while the Signature card rewards travellers with 10% overseas cashback and lounge access.
New cardholders can earn a one-time activation bonus of RM100 or RM150, depending on the card, through a limited-time cashback campaign.
Unveiling its first Visa credit cards yesterday, alrajhi bank Malaysia now offers the Visa Platinum Credit Card-i and Visa Signature Credit Card-i.
This move expands the bank’s existing retail banking portfolio, which previously focused primarily on savings, investments, and financing, into the everyday consumer spending market.
Both products are fully integrated into the MY alrajhi mobile app, allowing users to monitor transactions and manage their cards digitally.
“Our customers have trusted us with their savings, financing, and investments for many years. Introducing our first credit cards completes another important part of that relationship by supporting their everyday spending with meaningful rewards and the convenience of digital card management,” said Syahrul Ishak, Chief Executive Officer of alrajhi bank Malaysia.
To mark the launch, we’re also rewarding early adopters with a limited-time cashback campaign, giving customers even more value as they begin using our new credit cards.
New Credit Cards by alrajhi bank Cater To All Sorts Of Spending
While many of the common categories like groceries, dining, online purchases, utilities and overseas transactions are covered by both cards, each card is tailored for different types of spenders.
The Visa Platinum Credit Card-i is built for daily essentials, offering 5% cashback on dining, groceries, online shopping, and utility bills. And even though this rate is capped at RM30 a month, users also get an unlimited 0.2% cashback on all other retail purchases. The biggest selling point here is the cost – it’s completely free for life with no annual fees for either principal or supplementary cardholders.
Meanwhile, the Visa Signature Credit Card-i is geared toward frequent travelers which rewards international travel with 10% cashback on overseas spending (capped at RM80 per month). For local spending, it offers an unlimited 0.6% cashback baseline.
It also comes with premium travel perks like complimentary Priority Pass airport lounge access and a 24/7 Visa Concierge service. The annual fee is waived for the first year, and staying fee-free after that is easy. Users just need to make at least one retail transaction a month.
At the same time, alrajhi bank Malaysia is launching a limited-time cashback campaign. New-to-card customers who meet specified minimum spending requirements will receive a one-time activation bonus of RM100 for the Platinum card or RM150 for the Signature card, in addition to the standard cashback structures.
Any Malaysian aged between 21 and 65 years old can apply for the cards – the Visa Platinum Credit Card-i requires a minimum annual income of RM24,000, and the Visa Signature Credit Card-i requires a minimum annual income of RM60,000.
