Citrawarna 2026, also known as Colours of Malaysia, is set to return to Dataran Merdeka from 24 to 26 July 2026 to showcase and celebrate Malaysia’s diverse cultures, traditions, and heritage.

After a roughly four-year hiatus, Citrawarna makes its comeback as part of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), carrying the theme ‘Ritma Warisan, Nadi Nusa dan Bangsa’ (The Rhythm, The Soul and The Nation).

The last major national-level edition was Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 in Kuching, Sarawak. The festival was first inaugurated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in 1999 to celebrate Malaysia’s traditional arts, songs, and dances.

The mission of this year’s edition is no different, and visitors can look forward to four signature experiences:

  • Colours of Parade – Contingents from across the country converge in a procession that weaves music, dance, and storytelling into a single cultural spectacle.
  • Colours of Flavour Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage take the limelight with traditional delicacies and authentic gastronomic experiences.
  • Colours of Culture – A celebration of Malaysia’s diverse culture from traditional performances to traditional games. The curated experiences invite guests to take part in community and interactive activities.
  • Colours of Art – There’ll be creative showcases, local handicrafts, and live demonstrations by talented artisans.

Visitors can refer to the programme schedules and get the latest updates on Citrawarna’s official social media pages.
