But here’s something many Malaysians outside the East Coast may not realise, Kelantan has quietly built one of the country’s most vibrant homegrown entertainment scenes, complete with its own music stars, devoted fanbase and a thriving ecosystem powered largely by social media.
And now, that uniquely Kelantan brand of entertainment is making its way to the heart of the capital.
On 29 August 2026, Kelate Ke KL 2026 will take over Zepp Kuala Lumpur, bringing seven of the state’s biggest names together under one roof for what promises to be a celebration of Kelantan’s music, language and identity.
With the tagline “Suaro Kito, Jiwo Kito – 100% Ori Kelate”, the concert aims to introduce urban audiences to a music culture that has long been thriving beyond the Klang Valley.
A Music Scene Many Malaysians Never Knew Existed
While the Malaysian mainstream has traditionally been dominated by Malay and English-language pop, the rise of TikTok, YouTube and Facebook has given regional music a much bigger audience.
Kelantanese songs performed in the local dialect regularly rack up millions of views online, with fans stretching far beyond the state’s borders.
For many Kelantanese, these aren’t niche artists, they’re household names whose songs are played at weddings, kenduris, festivals and family gatherings.
The popularity has grown so much that a full-scale concert dedicated entirely to Kelantan artists is now heading to one of Kuala Lumpur’s premier live music venues.
Meet The Faces Of Modern Kelantan Entertainment
Eda Ezrin
Arguably the biggest contemporary name in Kelantan’s music scene, Eda Ezrin has amassed millions of online views with catchy dialect songs that blend traditional East Coast influences with modern pop beats.
Her energetic performances and relatable lyrics have made her one of the most recognisable faces of Kelantan entertainment today.
Her duet with another regional singer Den Manjo titled Cinta Setandan Pisang has garnered 36 million views on YouTube since its release two years ago.
Adik Waniey

Organised by Natriya Enterprise, Irama Entertainment and Ikarl Project, ticket sales have not been announced yet but it will be sold through Illaso.com.my.
