The countdown is on! With three months to go, The Pokemon Company has officially revealed details for the highly anticipated Pokemon 30th Anniversary celebrations coming to Kuala Lumpur.
Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of The Pokemon Company, said starting the tour in Kuala Lumpur is especially meaningful to the company, and they cannot wait to see fans enjoy everything that they have prepared.
Here are the highlights:
PokeXciting! Kuala Lumpur

PokeXciting! rolls into KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September 2026, bringing two days of free, family-friendly Pokémon fun to the heart of the city. Expect a lively mix of entertainment, a special PokeXciting! Pikachu sighting, and a genuine first for Malaysia — a Pokémon drone show that’s set to light up the night sky.
PokeXciting! Pikachu is no ordinary mascot. Each Pikachu will don a special-colour costume unique to each host city while bringing vibrant party vibes. For Kuala Lumpur, our special Pikachu dons vibrant turquoise headwear.

Additionally, a special PokeXciting!-related event will take place in Pokemon GO. And yes, the PokeXciting! Pikachu will appear in the game!
Fukunaga said they wanted PokeXciting to feel bigger than just an event. He shared that it’s a celebration to thank fans across Asia for their support over the past three decades, and it’s a chance for fans across the region to experience Pokemon together.
Pokemon RUN 30: Malaysia Edition
Pokemon RUN 30: Malaysia Edition will be held on 21 to 22 November 2026. Pokemon RUN is an interactive Fun Run experience that brings together Pokemon fans and runners for a themed adventure.
Participants begin their adventure by choosing their very first partner Pokemon. Then, trainers will encounter themed challenges inspired by the Pokemon world, including Gym Battles, encountering wild Pokemon, opportunities to fill their Pokedex Search Sheet, and chances to evolve their partner Pokemon. The themed checkpoints and interactive elements throughout the course are designed to create a dynamic storytelling experience that brings the Pokemon journey to life.

Participants of the Pokemon RUN 30 will also receive a Special Pokemon RUN 30 Runner’s Kit, including a T-shirt sponsored by Uniqlo, as part of their registration benefits.
There’s also a dedicated Festival Zone that’s open to both participants and non-participants of the run with free admission. Be sure to check out the Time Tunnel, a walk-through memory lane with a special feature showcasing Pokemon history over the past 30 years. The immersive experience will highlight Pokemon’s latest content as well.

The Special Pokemon Pop-Up Store is also at the Festival Zone, where fans can find special merchandise.
More details on the Pokemon RUN 30, including the venue and time, will be shared in due time. Interested participants may head over to the official Pokemon RUN 30 website here for updates and more info.
Pokemon Premier Ball League
For fans of the Pokemon trading card game, the Premier Ball League will take place from 21 to 22 November at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Halls 1 and 2.
First Nintendo & Pokemon Center Pop-Up Store in Malaysia

KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (KLCCH) has officially partnered with Pokemon for the upcoming PokeXciting celebrations. As a highlight of this landmark collaboration, KLCC’s new retail mall, Ombak KLCC, will play host to both a limited-time Nintendo Pop-Up Store and Malaysia’s very first Pokemon Center Pop-Up Store, from 12 September to the end of December.
The Nintendo Pop-Up Store features official merchandise from popular Nintendo franchises. For Kuala Lumpur, the exclusive merchandise features bright and energetic designs of Mario and friends in vibrant artwork. The shirt features Mario and Luigi sitting on two green pipes, an homage to the KL Twin Towers.

Meanwhile, the Pokemon Center Pop-Up Store will feature a wide range of products, including Pokemon Center Original merchandise, trading cards, plush toys, and the latest releases. A special merchandise commemorating the 30th anniversary is scheduled to go on sale too. In addition, a gaming experience booth will be set up in collaboration with Nintendo.
Adding to the excitement, Ombak KLCC will keep things fresh with a rotation of Pokemon-themed decor:
- 1 – 23 October: Pikachu theme
- 24 Oct – 15 Nov: Fire theme
- 16 Nov- 8 Dec: Grass theme
- 9 Dec- 31 Dec: Water theme
And, the big question on every Malaysian trainer’s mind: will we ever get a permanent Pokémon Center? Fukunaga didn’t rule it out, noting that the company will be watching how local fans engage with its upcoming activities before making any decisions.
