The company—best known for its speciality chemicals in construction, industrial, and automotive sectors—just announced the Tile Grout Makeover Giveaway, offering 50 lucky homeowners the chance to refresh their floors using Sika’s premium epoxy grout solutions, for free!

Sika Just Crowned Malaysia’s Top Tilers!

Recently, Sika Malaysia made headlines for hosting its first-ever National Tiler Competition, held at the Sika Technical Centre in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

The competition brought together skilled tilers from across Malaysia and challenged them under real-world conditions on all the tiny details that separate an “Okay lah” tiling job from “Whoa, this is legit” workmanship.

But… Why Tilers?

Because tiling is a bigger deal than most homeowners realise.

See, Malaysia’s construction scene has been moving fast, with new norms including larger tiles, shorter installation timelines, and more technical requirements.

And while most of us only see the finished floor, the tilers are the ones making sure it stays intact for years.

Sika’s competition was designed to spotlight these unsung pros, while at the same time, encouraging better workmanship and strengthening the tiling community.

According to Tin Yen Hau, Product Manager at Sika Kimia Sdn. Bhd., the competition was created to recognise, uplift, and celebrate skilled tilers who often don’t get the spotlight they deserve, by offering them a platform to showcase their skills on a national stage.

By highlighting the value of skilled tilers, we hope to inspire more young talents to join the field and raise industry standards. Our goal is simple: better workmanship, better buildings, and a stronger construction ecosystem for Malaysia.

During the competition, the tilers were assessed on every aspect of their craft, with judges checking their accuracy, levelling, adhesive use, neatness, and even how they managed to conduct themselves safely on-site.

And after a day of intense tiling, Beribu Inspirasi Sdn. Bhd., represented by Lim Chee Boon and Islam Md. Tariquk, claimed the national championship title and walked away with the grand prize of RM3,000.

The duo is also set to represent Malaysia at the international tiling finals happening in Hong Kong next year.

The first runner-up title went to another Beribu Inspirasi team, represented by Ho Kim Wai and A. Hamed Md. Tofeal, who walked away with RM2,000. While Liton Miah Md. and Bilal Miah from KTJ (M) Sdn. Bhd. took second runner-up and RM1,000.
