A Beautiful Marriage Of Flavours By Celebrity Chef Fazley

Datuk Fazley Yaakob, Malaysia’s celebrity chef unveiled a series of menu that he created for his partnership with CU: Korean Convenience Store.

This Fazley Yaakob Creation Series has 5 items that is full of flavour that would burst in your mouth with every bite you take.

The first item in the menu is known as Laksa Negeri Sembilan and is Fazley’s new creation.

“Imagine Lemak Cili Api and Lontong and if you marry the two, you get Laksa Negeri Sembilan” was the description given by Fazley for the dish.

This is a must try dish, as the broth is both creamy and has the right amount of spiciness. It is packed with flavours that you can savour with every bite.

This dish is also served together with tempe, fucuk vegetables, grated eggs, tofu and sambal minang.

The perfect pair for this dish is the Bandung Strawberry Bun. According to Fazley, this dish is supposed to be eaten with your eyes closed in an air-conditioned environment, and that would bring you to paradise.

The Bandung Strawberry Bun acts as the perfect desert for the Laksa Negeri Sembilan. After experiencing the creamy and spicy broth, this would cool your sensation.

The third dish in the menu is the Orange Sambal Nasi Lemak Fish Gimbap. This dish was created by Fazley in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.

Nasi Lemak is the staple dish of Malaysians and Orange represents the fruit of the Chinese New Year.

The fourth dish is an inspiration of a legendary Chinese tale which depicts the love between a mandarin duck and its mate which lasts forever.

The Prosperous Yuan Yang Fried Rice with Sautéed Seaweed Chicken is the perfect marriage of Korean culture with our Malaysian culture.

The final dish in the menu is the Pulled Beef Chilli Api Egg Mayo Sandwich. For all the sandwich lovers out there, this dish gives you the tender taste of the pulled beef together with the creamy texture of the egg paired with mayonnaise sauce

Speaking on his partnership with CU, Fazley said it is a dream come true. He created the menu especially for CU with the help of his team and with proper research, taking 6 months.

According to Fazley, food and flavours are like a marriage. The bed rock of a marriage is understanding each other.

Just like understanding the flavours of food and the needs of the customers which resulted in the creation of this menu.
