Fun Events In The Klang Valley This Weekend From 23 Dec To 26 Dec

From food fair and workshops to markets and concerts, there’s something for everyone this weekend in the Klang Valley.

Don’t know what to do this long Christmas weekend? No worries, we got you.

Head on over to art exhibits, concerts, food fairs and more this weekend.

Do note that some of these events only happen for a day or can last for a whole month so look at the dates carefully.

Here are the events to enjoy with your family and friends on ThursdayFridaySaturdaySunday and Monday.

22 December (Thursday)

1. Big Bad Wolf (Book Fair) @ MIECC (20 Dec – 2 Jan, 10 am – 2 am)

For two weeks only, BBW is back howling with up to 95% discounts on books! They also have more promotions and contests for you guys. They have over 3.5 million books including children’s books, romance novels (wink wink), self-help books and many more.

Go get yourself that discounted Harry Potter book set for your bookshelf or that self-help book to get you going strong for 2023!

P/S: Don’t forget to bring a big bag or luggage to bring home your treasures that day.

2. Avatar: Way Of Water Installation (Light Installation) @ Lot 10 (14 Dec – 2 Jan)

Have you watched the recent cinema-craze Avatar: The Way Of Water? It’s a sequel we’ve waited 13 years for! Movie buffs will surely want to catch this science fiction currently showing in cinemas.

For fans of lights and the film Avatar, go get your OOTD shots at the Avatar: Way Of Water light installation right in front of Lot 10 mall. The installation is only going to be there for two weeks until 2 January, so don’t miss out!

3. Nijigen Expo @ Tokyo Town, Pavilion Bukit Jalil (22 Dec – 1 Jan)

Dear Anime lovers! If you love cosplaying, you should head on to the Nijigen Expo at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Apart from Christmas sales and presents, they also have a cosplay runway, anime figures, cosplayer meet & greet, GK exhibition and many more.

4. Van Gogh Alive Exhibition @ Pavillion Bukit Jalil (17 Dec – 16 March, 10 am – 10 pm)

Witness Van Gogh’s legendary works of art displayed digitally at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Get ready for a multi-sensory experience with a symphony of light, colour, sound and fragrance for you there.

4. ParkCity Year End Light Festival @ Desa ParkCity (1 Dec – 5 Feb)

Don’t know where to go ‘lepak’ or take good pictures at night? Try going to Central Park at Desa Parkcity. Their light installations are inspired by the Nordic lights so you can experience a bit of some Aurora-Borealis-inspired views on weekends from 8 pm – 9 pm.

They also have tons of other amazing light installations from The Waterfront to around Central Park. This is a great place to bring your date out on a scenic stroll at night.

The Christmas installation will be there until 28 December while the light installation will be there until 5 February.

5. Five Elements – A Handicraft Fair @ GMBB (16 Dec – 3 Jan, 11 am – 8 pm)

This fair celebrates the art of handicraft and the five elements, earth, fire, metal, water and wood. There will be multiple exhibitions, clay workshops, tattoo workshops and more.

6. Great British Circus (Circus) @ Plaza Arkadia, Desa ParkCity (19 Nov – 1 Jan, 5.30 pm & 8.30 pm)

If you’re into circus shows (humans, not animals), you should try and have a look at the Great British Circus show. They’ve been touring places in Malaysia and this Christmas time, they’re putting on shows at Desa ParkCity.

7. iNyala (Digital Art Exhibition) @ Fahrenheit88 (8 Dec – 25 Dec)

Immerse yourself in a digital art exhibition which features 17 multidisciplinary art installations centred on the theme of “17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.

23 December (Friday)

1. Dessert & Chocolate Festival 2.0 (Dessert Festival) @ Bangi Avenue Convention Centre (23 – 25 Dec, 10 am – 10 pm)

Got a sweet tooth? Well, fulfil those sweet cravings of yours at the Dessert & Chocolate Festival 2.0 this Friday till Sunday. They have everything there including cakes, cookies, chocolates, ice creams, sweet and creamy drinks and many more!

There will be more than 100 vendors at the site and you will also be greeted with performances from famous local talents such as Ernie Zakri, Mamat Exist, Drama Band and many more.

2. The World Of DC Exhibition @ Tropicana Gardens Hall Convention Centre (23 Dec – 1 Apr)

Being the first-ever DC Exhibition launch in Asia, The World Of DC Exhibition will feature interactive games, life-seized exhibits, behind-the-scene concept art, limited-edition merchandise and more at the Tropicana Gardens Mall.

3. Jingle Jungle’s Joy (Market) @ Central Market KL (23 – 25 Dec, 10 am – 8 pm)

If you still haven’t done your last-minute Christmas shopping, you can give Central Market a try. They have many vendors selling items from fashion accessories to Christmas products. There are also workshops available.

4. Friday Night Mic (Comedy Open Mic) @ RexKL (9 pm)

If you love comedy open mic shows, then you should try going to RexKL’s Friday Night Mic this Friday. Enjoy live comedy and laugh your hearts out at some fun stories from the open mic guests.

24 & 25 December (Saturday & Sunday)

1. 6ixth Sense 7Belas (Concert) @ Panggung Asia, Gombak (6 pm – 11 pm)

If you grew up listening to classic Indonesian hits during the late 2000s and early 2010s, then you wouldn’t wanna miss this Indonesian band’s concert. 6ixth Sense is having their first ever ‘7 Belas’ concert in Kuala Lumpur this 24 December, celebrating their 17 years of being active in the music industry.

Vibe to their some of their best hits such as Tanpa, Khatimah Cinta, Tak Bisa Memilihmu, Yang Sempurnakanku and more.

2. Barbarik Pentas Keras (Rock Concert) @ Zepp KL (8.45 pm)

If you’re into rock kapak songs, then you definitely need to see some of the Malaysian rock artists perform this Saturday at Zepp KL. Jo Branko, Wings’ ex-guitarist and Muss, May’s ex-vocalist are collaborating together to give hardcore rock fans the times of their lives at the Barbarik Pentas Keras concert.

3. Santa’s Marketplace Christmas Bazaar @ GMBB KL (24 & 25 Dec, 12 pm – 7 pm)

This Christmas Bazaar will involve more than 70 indoor and outdoor vendors featuring F&B, arts & crafts, fashion &accessories, gifts, lifestyle, workshops, games and other products from the local creative community.

The highlights include a wishing tree and workshops (flower bouquet arrangements, Christmas Nagomi’s art, and more!).

4. Rexmas Weekend by Curators Lab (Market) @ RexKL (24 – 25 Dec, 11 am – 9 pm)

This is a lifestyle event that includes plenty of vendors like F&B, tattoos, clothing, accessories and more. There will also be music played by local DJs.

5. Beach Pool Club Xmas Splash Party @ Discovery Park, Gamuda Cove (11 am till late, Every Sat)

Enjoy street Latin dances such as salsa, mambo and rumba, rhythm-thumping beats from DJs, a famous 90’s throwback dance show and fire-eater performances at the Discovery Park’s Beach Pool Club every Saturday this December.

26 December (Monday)

1. Ungu 26th Anniversary Concert @ Menara PGRM, KL (26 & 27 December, 8.30 pm)

Calling all Indonesian sad song lovers! The popular pop-rock band Ungu is staging their 26th Anniversary concert for two days in Kuala Lumpur this Monday and Tuesday!

Go enjoy some of their best hits including Kekasih Gelapku, Cinta Dalam Hati, Tercipta Untukku, Andai Ku Tahu, Percaya Padaku and many more.

2. When Ballet Meets Contemporary Dance 2022 (Dance Show) @ KLPAC (3 pm, 8 pm)

Are you into ballet and contemporary dance? If you are, you might wanna watch a dance performance by the participants of the International Tanz Challenge & National Dance Camp 2022 at KLPAC this Monday.

Produced by the La Danza Theatre, this performance will feature contemporary ballet, a style of dance that meshes classical ballet with modern dance.
