Plan Your Getaway Next Year With This 2023 Long Weekends List

As the year is nearing an end, some of us must be panicking to finish up our annual leaves. We’re too hardworking, aren’t we? 😌

But instead of spending your annual leaves randomly, you could plan them ahead around the public holidays so you can enjoy a long holiday and even plan a long vacation.

So for next year, mark your calendars and start planning your short vacation or balik kampung trips!

Here’s a list of Malaysia’s long weekends for next year.

The white ones are weekends while the yellow ones are next year’s public holidays.

You can plan to take your annual leave on the blue-marked days so that it’ll be a long weekend.

A few added details:

  • 2 January (Monday) – New Year’s public holiday excludes states like Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Perlis and Terengganu.
  • 5 & 6 February (Sunday, Monday) – Thaipusam holiday is only for states like Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Perak, Putrajaya & Selangor (Johor gets Sunday)
  • 28 September – (Thursday) – Prophet’s Muhammad Birthday is a national holiday. You can take an AL on Friday 29 September.
