Did you know that you can claim Unclaimed Monies (Wang Tak Dituntut) from Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia (JANM)?

First things first, where did the money come from?

According to tazc.com.my, unclaimed monies are a sum of money owned by any individual or company in the form of dividends, savings accounts, insurance claims, bank drafts and more.

When the money goes unclaimed or unpaid to the owner, the money is automatically ‘passed’ over to Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia as Unclaimed Monies.

How do you claim the money?

The first thing to do is to check if you have money to claim. You can check this at Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia’s office or do it online.

Twitter user Ainul (@AinulNunanaa) shared the steps to claim the money online just by using your own IC number.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Head over to Jabatan Akauntan Negara Malaysia’s official website [egumis.anm.gov.my]
  2. Sign up for an account if you don’t have one yet. Upon signing up, please log into the account.
  3. Click on the purple search bar with the words ‘Klik Disini Untuk Carian Wang Tak Dituntut.’
  4. Enter your IC number and click ‘search.’
  5. The list of Unclaimed Monies registered under your IC number should appear.
  6. Follow the steps given. Enter your bank account details to collect the Unclaimed Monies.
