ZUS Coffee hasn’t been around for that long. In fact, they were established only since the end of 2019. However, they have been expanding quite quickly in almost three years.

Starting from their very first outlet in Binjai 8 to their new 100th outlet in Tropicana Gardens Mall, ZUS Coffee has made it far as a homegrown coffee brand in Malaysia. They are also targeting to reach 180 outlets and create 1000 jobs by the end of this year.

First Barista Academy

Commemorating their 100th outlet yesterday on the third floor of the mall, they also celebrated the opening of their first barista academy; a place where they can train new members effectively and professionally before assigning them to work at their respective outlets. On-the-job baristas are also provided refresher courses to be in line with the latest developments in the coffee scene.

Before this, they’ve been training their new recruits in small spaces in their HQ at Taman Desa, then Glenmarie. Now that they’re expanding exponentially, they can finally open up an official barista academy. The academy aims to nurture consistency in all aspects from careful food handling and hygiene to providing service to the customers with a smile.

This new academy is attached to the store beside it and is made transparent for customers to see the process. This is made so that the trainees can build confidence and professionalism while in training.

Curious onlookers can take a peek at how your favourite drinks are made in the academy. Just don’t startle the newbies though!

Additionally, after more than two years in operation, ZUS Coffee has also attained their HALAL certification by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). This marks another milestone in ZUS Coffee’s effort to be closer to the community.

Moreover, their easy and user-friendly application has also been downloaded more than 850, 000 times. Another cause of celebration for them.
