Heading To Ipoh? Try These 7 Places For A Perak-tastic Trip

Apart from Concubine Lane, there are also other places in Ipoh that you can visit.

If you’re planning on a trip to Ipoh, you’ll need to have a full itinerary before you go.

1. Kek Lok Tong Cave

Also known as the Cave of Great Happiness, Kek Lok Tong is located at the base of Gunung Rapat. Relax your mind and enjoy recreational activities at this breathtaking cave. You can admire cave formations, jog at their picturesque gardens, feed Koi fish in the pond, birdwatch in the early morning and also cycle both on land and water!

2. Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village

Another recreational place located near Gunung Rapat is Qing Xin Ling or also known as Serene Hill. Besides doing relaxing recreational activities here, you can also look at their antique collection, walk up Memory Lane (literal name, no pun intended), read your own future at the fortune-telling place (Ba Zhi) and write a wish by hanging red ribbons on the old Banyan wishing tree.

3. Japanese Garden

This Japanese Garden is located at the D.R. Seenivasagam Recreational Park, a park named after a famous lawyer and also considered the oldest park in Ipoh. Being a sister city to Fukuoka, Japan (Ipoh-Fukuoka), this garden is built according to the unique landscape structure of the Japanese garden there. You can enjoy the calming serene greenery around here and pretend you’re in Japan.

4. Ipoh Night Market (Gerbang Malam)

Ipoh has a lot of street markets and one of them is called Gerbang Malam. It’s like a common flea market selling toys, shoes, clothes, backpacks, watches, glasses and more. They also have some restaurants selling Ipoh’s famous Ayam Tauge (Lou Wong) and cafes (Konda Kondi) around here if you wanna hang out.

5. Hot Spring & Night

This place is actually located inside the Lost World of Tambun (waterpark). At night time, you can explore their Luminous Forest, Lost World Hot Springs and Spa, Flaming Percussion, Petting Zoo, Ipoh Street and Tarantula Alley here. The Hot Springs and Spa has around 12 pools for you to relax, unwind and enjoy the natural hot spring water.

6. Mirror Lake

Also located around Gunung Rapat, this lake used to be an active quarry site but has now turned into a jaw-dropping picturesque tourist attraction. You would have to walk through a deep dark tunnel to make your way to this hidden paradise. This is just a place where you can enjoy the views and take mesmerizing pictures with.

7. Kinta Riverwalk

This place is ideal if you want to take your kids or bring your friends on a stroll down the riverwalk at night. The place is decorated with beautiful lights similar to I-City, especially at the two glow-in-the-dark bridges. Besides entertainment for kids, there are also shops and stalls selling arts and crafts as well as food and drinks there.
